No being forced to quarter soldiers in one’s home

No searches/violations of privacy unless the person searching has a SPECIFIC warrant
Amendment 5
No double-jeopardy trials, testifying against yourself in a criminal case, you can’t be sentenced without due process of law & the government can’t take anything that is yours without proper pay
Amendent 6
Right to a speedy, public trial with an impartial jury, right to bring witnesses in your favor and confront witnesses against you, and a lawyer

No unreasonable fines/punishments

New Jersey vs. TLO
Students have a reasonable expectation of privacy but with probable cause schools are not held to the 4th Amendment in order to protect the student body.
Westside vs. Mergens
If a school is offering any clubs, they must allow for all clubs.
Vernonia School District vs. Acton
By voluntarily participating in sports, students lose some rights to privacy, including being subjected to arbitrary drug tests.
West Virginia State Board of Education vs. Barnette
Nobody is required to say the Pledge of Aleigance.
Hazelwood vs. Kuhlmeier
The school can decide which articles get published because of its ownership of the paper.
Tinker vs. Des Moines
Students can express political opinions at school, including peaceful protest.
