What is the 1st amendment?
Freedom of speech Freedom of the press Freedom to peacefully assemble No law restricting religion Freedom to petition the government
What is the 2nd amendment?
Right to have a well regulated militia
Right to bear arms
What is the 3rd amendment?
No soldier shall in a time of peace be quartered in any house without the owner’s consent, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
What is the 4th amendment?
Right against unlawful search and seizures
What is the 5th amendment?
No person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crime unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury.
No Double Jeopardy
Not compelled to be a witness against himself
Not deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of the law
No private property taken for public use without just compensation
What is the 6th amendment?
The right to a speedy and public trial by an impartial jury where the crime was committed
The right to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation
The right to be confronted with the witnesses against him
The right to obtain witnesses in his favor
The right to counsel
What is the 7th amendment?
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed $20, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, answered no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re examined in any court of the United States, then according to the rules of the common law
What is the 8th amendment?
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted
What is the 9th amendment?
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people
What is the 10th amendment?
The rights of States to govern what is not delegated by the Constitution
