Amendment- 1
1st-Freedom of speech!
protects freedom of speech, the press, assembly, and the right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Amendment-2
2nd- Right to bare arms!
The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms.
Amendment- 3
3rd- No soldiers in your home!
if the United States is not at war, then it can’t make people house soldiers
Amendment- 4
4th- search & seizures/arrest without warrant or probable cause!
protects people from unreasonable searches and seizures without probable cause
Amendment- 5
5th- plead the fifth/ self incrimination!
guarantees the right to a grand jury, forbids “double jeopardy,” and protects against self-incrimination. (The right to remain silent)
Amendment- 6
6th- right to peer jury!
grants citizens the right to a jury composed of impartial members drawn from the local community.
Amendment- 7
7th- rights in civil trial!
protects the right to a trial by jury in civil court cases.
Amendment- 8
8th- no cruel and unusual punishments, or excessive bail & fines!
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
Amendment- 9
9- Rights protected, Rights retained by the People!
the rights of citizens will be protected whether these rights are listed or not.
Amendment- 10
10- All powers not outlined go to the state or the American people!
any power or right not specifically listed in the Constitution as belonging to the federal government belongs to individual states or the American people themselves.
