A

Congress can’t make a law respecting an establishment of religion, and can’t prohibit the free exercise thereof, or can’t abridge the freedom of speech, press, or the right for people to peaceably assemble, and petition, or complaint the Government without a fear of punishment.

A

A well-regulated militia (which is necessary to the security of a free state) and the right of the people to keep and bear arms shouldn’t be infringed

A

No soldier shall be quartered in any house in a time of peace or war without the owner’s consent, but only in a manner prescribed by law

What rights do the Fifth Amendment go over?

A

No person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crime unless on a presentment or indictment of Grand Jury (meaning the Grand Jury has to determine if the government has enough evidence to hold a trial against a person in criminal cases) except in cases arising in land or naval forces, militia, in times of war/public danger. People also won’t be subject for the same offense twice (double jeopardy) or compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, or be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law. Private property won’t be taken for public use without compensation.

What rights do the Fourth Amendment go over?

A

The right of the people to be secure in their house, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated without a warrant issued, which the warrant will be issued with probable cause, particularly describing the place/things to be searched or seized.

What rights do the Sixth Amendment go over?

A

In criminal prosecutions, the accused have the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where the crime took place. They will also be fully informed of the cause/nature of the accusation, and the assistance of the council for his defense.

A

During civil cases, when the value of controversy exceeds $20, right of trial by jury remains, and no fact tried by a jury will be reexamined in any court according to rules of common law.

A

The rights of the people aren’t limited to just the ones given in the Constitution, and shouldn’t be used to deny other rights. The written Constitution shouldn’t be an excuse for ignoring nontextual rights.
