1st Amendment
Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition.
2nd Amendment
Right to keep and bear arms in order to maintain a well regulated militia against an invasion or a corrupt central government.
3rd Amendment
No quartering of soldiers during peacetime.
4th Amendment
Freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures. MUST HAVE A WARRANT! Judges give search warrants.
7th Amendment
Right of trial by jury in civil cases.( if >$20 is involved)
8th Amendment
Freedom from excessive bail, cruel and unusual punishments. (death sentence was not considered cruel)
9th Amendment
Basic, obvious rights are protected.
10th Amendment
Powers not given to the federal gov. nor denied to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.
Federal crimes require a grand jury indictment

Speedy and public trial in district in which the crime was committed.
6th
Have a process to bring witnesses forward to help defend you.

No double jeopardy

Right to council
6th
Need not bear witness against yourself.
