Freedom of speech, press, assembly, petition, and religion
2nd amendment
right to bear arms
3rd amendment
No housing of soldiers in times of peace
4th amendment
reason and place to be searched for certain items.
5th amendment
no double jeopardy, grand jury consensus, can’t be forced to testify against yourself, due process of law.
6th amendment
rights of the accused (change of venue)
7th amendment
right to a jury in a civil case
8th amendment
no harsh or unusual punishment, no excessive bail or fines
9th amendment
promise that written & unwritten rights can’t be taken from the people by the government
10th amendment
powers not given to the federal government are left to the state or the people.
