Takeoff
- Select - Ref Point to maintain centerline
- Power - 2000 RPM
- Instruments - IN THE GREEN
- Power - smooth to full, heels to deck
- Maintain - directional control via rudders
- Airspeed - AIRSPEED ALIVE
- Rotate - Vr, 55 KIAS
- Accelerate - Vy, 73 KIAS
- Pitch - pitch for Vy
Turn Pattern
- Establish Straight and Level, 90 KIAS
2a. Clear area. Turn either direction for 30º heading change using 15º AOB
2b. Clear other direction and reverse the turn, leading by one-third rule for 30º heading change using 15º AOB
3a. Clear area. With no delay, reverse turn leading by one-third rule and turn for 90º heading change using 30º AOB. Maintain alt and airspeed with power and nose attitude; trim
3b. Clear other direction and reverse the turn, leading by one-third rule for 90º heading change using 30º AOB (remember nose attitude to maintain airspeed and alt while rolling through level)
4a. Clear area. With no delay, reverse turn leading by one-third rule and turn for 180º heading change using 45º AOB. Maintian alt and airspeed with power and nose attitude; trim
4b. Clear other direction and reverse the turn, leading by one-third rule for 180º heading change using 45º AOB (remember nose attitude to maintain airspeed and alt while rolling through level)
- Roll out on original heading using one-third rule and holding slight forward stick pressure (prevent ballooning)
- Reset power to normal/slow cruise power setting (as req), reset attitude and re-trim for straight and level
Level Speed Change
- Establish 90 KIAS
- Carb Heat - ON
- Power - 1500 RPM
- Attitude - ADJUST TO MAINTAIN ALT (INCREASE)
- Flaps - FULL
- Trim - AS REQ
approaching 55 KIAS
- Power - 2100 RPM
- Attitude - MAINTAIN AIRSPEED/ALT
- Trim - AS REQ
- Clear - AIRSPACE IN DIRECTION OF TURN
- Turn - 90º then reverse back to intial heading (10-15º AOB) if directed by instructor
** R E C O V E R Y**
- Power - FULL
- Carb Heat - OFF
- Flaps - RETRACT INCREMENTALLY
- Attitude - REDUCE TO MAINTAIN LEVEL
- Accelerate - 90 KIAS
- Trim
Power Off Stall
Entry with 90 KIAS or less
- Clear - TURNS EXECUTED AS REQ
- Carb Heat - ON
- Power - RETARD SMOOTH TO IDLE
- Flaps - FULL (when in white arc)
- Airspeed - ESTABLISH 65 KIAS (trimmed, hands free, stable descent)
- Pitch - RAISE NOSE 5-10º
at stall horn
- RELAX
- MAX
- Carb Heat - OFF
- LEVEL
- BALL (right rudder)
** as aircraft recovers **
- Flaps - RAISE TO 20º
- Pitch - SMOOTH TO SET CLIMB ATTITUDE
- Flaps - WITH POSITIVE VSI, RETRACT REMAINING (level off at next 500’ increment, then back to 90 KIAS)
Power On Stall
Entry with 90 KIAS
- Clear - TURNS EXECUTED AS REQ
- Carb Heat - ON
- Power - 1000 RPM
- Airspeed - SLOW TO 65 KIAS
- Power - SMOOTH ADVANCE TO >2000 RPM
- Carb Heat - OFF
- Pitch - RAISE NOSE 15-20º

- RELAX
- MAX
- LEVEL
- BALL (right rudder)
** as aircraft recovers **
- Pitch - SMOOTH FOR CLIMB ATTITUDE (level off at next 500’ increment and back to 90 KIAS)
