The Doctrine of God: What does the word ‘omniscient’ mean?
Omniscient means God knows everything. (God is all-knowing) Psalm 139:24
Doctrine of God: What does the word ‘omnipresent’ mean?
Omnipresent means God is present everywhere at the same time (all-present) Psalm 139:7-12.
Doctrine of God: What does the word ‘omnipotent’ mean?
Omnipotent means that God is all-powerful (Jeremiah 32:17).
Doctrine of God: What does holy mean?
Holy means that God is seperate,… absolutely pure. God is absolutely pure and has no sin whatsoever (Leviticus 20:26).
Doctrine of God: Why is it significant that God is Spirit?
Spirit means wind/breath or without a physical body (John 4:24).
Doctrine of God: What does eternal mean?
Eternal means that God is everlasting, meaning God had no beginning and will have no end (God has always existed and God will never cease to exist) Psalm 90:2.
Doctrine of God: What does unchangable mean?
Unchangable means that God never changes (Malachi 3:6).
Doctrine of God: What does sovereign mean?
Sovereign means that God is ruler of all things and everything is under his direct control (Ephesians 1:11).
Doctrine of God: Know that God is good.
God is good (Romans 2:4).
Doctrine of God: What does righteous mean?
Righteous means that God is completely just and fair (1st John 1:9; Jeremiah 12:1).
Doctrine of God: What does love mean?
God is love (1st John 4:8) and sacrifice in order in order to save someone else.
Doctrine of God: Name the three persons of the Trinity?
- The Father is God - 1st Corinthians 8:6
- The Son (Jesus Christ) is God - 1st John 5:5
- The Holy Spirit is God - Acts 5:3-4
Doctrine of God: How do we know that God is one God but in three persons.
- The bible says that “there is no God but one” (1st Corinthians 8:4).
- The bible also says God exists in three distinct persons:
1. The Father is God - 1st Corinthians 8:6
2. The Son (Jesus Christ) is God - 1st John 5:5
3. The Holy Spirit is God - Acts 5:3-4

Monotheism is the belief in one God.
Doctrine of God: How should we accept the existence of God?
By faith (Hebrews 11:6).
Doctrine of God: What is an attribute?
An attribute of God is a characteristic of God. For example, God is all knowing (omnipresent) and that is an attribute of God.
Doctrine of God: Name of God - What does God’s name, Yahweh (Jehovah), mean?
Yahweh (or Jehovah) means “I Am”. I Am means that God owes his existence to no one…God alone is the self existent, eternal God (Exodus 3:13-14).

Polytheism means to believe in multiple gods.
Doctrine of God: The EFCA Statement of Faith #1 is on God. You need to be able to explain what each part of the statement of faith means.
“We believe in one God, Creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign poer, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.” (Article 1.
