Atonement

A humanistic philosophy/ deeply rooted in China focussing on family structure, as well as ancestor and nature worship.

Active presentation of the gospel to try and bring others to the church.

Belief that naturally every living thing has evolved since the Big Bang. (No divine being)

A philosophy stressing how humans have the essential goodness inside of them and measure equal to all things.

A Roman Catholic doctrine that affirms Mother Mary was sinless with baby Jesus in her womb.
Individualism
Allowing individuals rights to take precedence over a groups rights.
Indulgences
A Catholic belief that all sins can be forgiven through remission.
Life Philosophy
Ones personal conviction in what life is and how it should be lived for ones self.
Liturgy
A ritual or a group of rights prescribed for public use.
Miracle
A supernatural happening that transcends but does not violate nature.
Mysticism
A state of mind or a reality beyond reason.
New Thought
A philosophy that arose in the 19th century focussing on ones infinite potential and power of positive thought.
Paranormal
That which is supernatural; not scientifically explained.
Penance
Self discipline for those who are seeking forgiveness in the Catholic Church.
Shamans
Doctors who supposedly heal with the power of spirits in the spirit world.
Shintoism
State of religion in Japan dedicated to ones ancestors as well as the emperor and nature deities.
Theosophy
A belief from the 19th century where one can achieve divinity through reincarnation.
Transcendentalism
More of a spiritual then a material belief that points a person inward to oneself and finding nature as the ultimate truth.
Transcendental Meditation
Altered state of consciousness to turn off the mind enabling God consciousness.
Transubstantiation
Catholic belief that the bread and wine turn into blood and Jesus flesh inside of a person.
Unitarianism
A denomination that believes God lives inside everyone which means everyone is saved.
Zoroastrianism
A Persian religion that the world is in constant battle between the “light” and the “darkness”.
Arianism
Belief that Christ is a created being which is going against the trinity belief.
