Is Christ God? Explain.
Jesus said it. He claimed He and the Father are one, making himself equal to God.
What are the 3 impossible L’s?
Liar: He lied about being God. You cannot be a liar and a good moral teacher. He wouldn’t die for a lie.
Lunatic: He was a crazy man who claimed to be God, but he had the greatest composure under pressure.
Legend: Jesus’s followers made up the entire story. There wasn’t enough time for it to become a legend, for eyewitnesses were still alive.
What are his credentials?
His character matches his claim; he was sinless, and only God could achieve this. He had the perfect blend of personality traits, he wielded power only God can exhibit, and his supreme credential was his resurrection. We can also experience him right now. Combining history and the resurrection gives us a basis for our conviction.
What are 3 Theories for Christ’s death?
- The soldiers said that the disciples had come at night. This is foreign to their character.
- The Jews and Romans moved the body. If either had the body, they would’ve paraded it through town, easily ending Christianity.
- The wrong tomb suggests that the distraught women missed their way and imagined Christ has risen because the tomb was empty.
