why did Abraham sacrifice Isaac?
- god commands him to in order to test his faith
- when god intervened and provided a ram to be sacrificed instead it showed God was faithful to promises and would always provide
what does the sacrifice of Issac foreshadow?
- God’s sacrifice of his son, Jesus Christ
- both on temple mount, son carries wood, for son’s glory, father trusts/knows son will rise, ram offered instead of son and son offered instead of us
