Referencing only those perspectives that fuel our pre-existing views
IN-GROUP BIAS
Over estimating the abilities and values of our group
GAMBLERS FALLACY
mistaken belief that, if something happens more frequently than normal during some period, it will happen less frequently in the future, or that, if something happens less frequently than normal during some period it will happen more frequently or get back to normal
OBSERVATIONAL SELECTION BIAS
Assuming that because we notice something more the frequency has increased - buying a new car and seeing more similar cars
STATUS QUO BIAS
Making choices to keep things the same
NEGATIVITY BIAS
Paying more attention to the bad news
PROJECTION BIAS
Assuming that most people think like we do
CURRENT MOMENT BIAS
Being unable to imagine ourselves in the future
ANCHORING EFFECT
Comparing only a limited set or fixating on a specific value
AVAILABILITY HEURISTIC
Overestimating likelihood of events based on more prominent memories
BASE RATE FALLACY
Ignoring general information for more specific information
CONSERVATION BIAS
Tendency to revise one’s belief insufficiently when confronted with new information
FOCUSING EFFECT
Tendency to place too much importance on one aspect of an event
FRAMING EFFECT
Drawing conclusions based on how the information is framed
HINDSIGHT BIAS
Seeing past events as being predictable
