What is Beyond Balance?
US-based nutritional company that produces herbal formulas used by practitioners in US, Canada, Europe, and Australia.
Who developed Beyond Balance formulas?
Susan McCamish, a Certified Traditional Naturopath, Nutritional Consultant, and Herbalist well known for creating effective, high-quality herbal formulas for people with chronic complex illnesses.
Susan has been involved in research and development of natural products that support the body in dealing with complex health issues for over 25 years.
Why use herbal medicinals?
Herbs are known to contain vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Studies reveal antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial effects. When blended synergistically, the formula becomes multifaceted and powerful enough to create changes in the body and within the cells themselves.Herbs are food for the body and contain all of the necessary nutrients in the ideal composition to be absorbed by the body in an optimal manner.
How should the Beyond Balance® formulas be taken?
The formulas should be taken in one ounce of water each. They may be stirred into the water with a non-metal spoon, if desired, or they can simply be swished around in the glass and consumed. For optimal results, they should not be mixed together. The formulas may be taken one after the other. They are best taken with food unless otherwise directed by your practitioner.
With MC-BFM-1® and MC-BFM-P™, these are best taken 20 to 30 minutes (or more) away from food on an empty stomach due to the proteolytic enzyme content.
TOX-EASE BIND® is best kept 1-2 hours away from food, supplements, and medications.
For optimal results, TOX-EASE MET® should be taken away from food.
Can the Beyond Balance® formulas be mixed together?
For optimal results, the formulas should not be mixed together. They can be taken one after the other, but should not be mixed in the same glass (or in the mouth). Each formula is a blend of herbs and other nutrients with a specific purpose. Mixing them together will generally not result in the desired outcome.
Where can dosing information be found?
Dosing guidelines are available in both the Product Guide and Product Usage Guide which can be found on our site under Education -> Product Guides (login required)
Can the products be used during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding?
Beyond Balance® products should NOT be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding a child under the age of 8 months old.
How do I dose the formulas in children?
For children 8 months and above, we recommend dosing based on weight. Unless a specific dosing is provided for children, the recommendations in our Product Guide and Product Usage Guide are for adults and are based on 160 pounds. We are unable to provide recommendations for children under 8 months of age.
Can the Beyond Balance® formulas be used with traditional pharmaceutical therapy?
The formulas can be used as a stand-alone option for those who are antibiotic-resistant or prefer natural treatment options. They can also be used in conjunction with antibiotics to support the immune system, support organ function and improve detoxification.Practitioners will need to research whether or not the herbs in a given product may be appropriate for use with any pharmaceuticals that a patient may be utilizing. Generally speaking, the formulas have been used in combination with antibiotics. Where more questions arise is with the use of antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and similar medications.
We encourage practitioners to discuss potential interactions with their local pharmacist. Patient’s medication needs will most likely need to be adjusted as the patient addresses infections.
Please contact Beyond Balance® Practitioner Support for resources which may be helpful as you explore potential interactions further.
Are the Beyond Balance® products organic?
Our formulas are not certified organic. However, we do strive to use organic and wildcrafted ingredients whenever possible. In some cases and some times of year, certain ingredients may not be available organically.
Why are the formulas glycerin-based?
The vegetable glycerin base is similar in molecular structure to an oil and is better tolerated than alcohol in children and immune- compromised patients. Cells are attracted to the glycerin allowing for more comprehensive coverage and increased utilization of the active ingredients.
What is the source of the glycerin?
The glycerin in the Beyond Balance® formulas is derived from food-grade, non-GMO palm kernel oil.
Do the Beyond Balance® products contain any alcohol?
Alcohol is used as part of the extraction process of our raw ingredients with a final flush of purified water to remove as much of any remaining alcohol as possible prior to their introduction into a glycerin base. The amount of alcohol remaining in final product is negligible to nonexistent. Additionally, with our products being administered based on our recommended dosing guidelines, this only further supports their safe use and falls within the AHPA Guidance Policy.
We have not had any reports of intolerance to the Beyond Balance products as a result of their negligible alcohol content. Practitioners should consider any potential interactions for their individual patients.
Are Beyond Balance® formulas gluten-free?
The formulas are gluten-free.
Do the Beyond Balance® formulas use a vegetarian capsule?
Most of the products are glycerin-based drops. For the capsule-based products, vegetarian capsules are used.
How are the products tested for quality and purity?
Testing is performed on the individual raw materials as well as third-party testing on final product. The products are tested for microbiology, heavy metals, pesticides, contaminants, allergens, pH, density, viscosity, and stability.
