Whats the problem with BB and diabetics?
can mask the hypoglycaemia effect
How do BB’s work?
decrease cardiac output by altering baroreceptor reflex sensitivity and blocking peripheral adrenoreceptors
Which conditions are BB’s contraindicated in?
Uncontrolled HF (unstable HF)
Which BB’s can be used in HF?
Bisoprolol and carvediolol
What counselling advice would you give someone on a BB?
Do not stop taking abruptly without advice of your doctor
