Bergeron Proteins Flashcards
FliC
Flagellin. 11 stranded. Multiple monomers make up filament.
FlgH and I
Form the LP ring in the Basal Body.
FliF
Makes up the MS ring in the Basal Body. 24 Prot complex. First to oligomerize in assembly, recruits FliG next.
Fli PQR
Exporter Apparatus. IM gate. FliP is pentamer on top of the IM, 4Q and 1R make up pentamer in the inside.
FcpA
Extra sheath layer surrounding the filament in Spirochetes.
FlhA
Exporter gate/Substate forming platform. 9 mer.
FliR
ATPase 6 mer.
MotA
Tetramer of 4 TM alpha helices. 16 per 2 MotB. Loop that binds FliG on the rotar after a conformation change.
MotB
1 TM alpha and PG binding domain = Anchors it and makes it static. Key Asp32 that binds H+ to trigger conf change in MotA.
FliGMN
Rotar. 34mer. G binds MotA and MN binds CHeY. G recruited by FliF firstm then MN.
PomA and B
MotAB equivalents but in Vibrio. Have extra periplasmic proteins (H and T rings) to strengthen the anchoring.
CheY
Gets phosphorylated to interact with FliM and N in rotar = Conf change and reverse the direction that it swims.
FlhF
Diffuses to the edge and starts making Flag.
FlhG
Stops F making flag if there already is one
