at risk of being expelled; eligibility becomes an obligation, seen as betraying the organization if they do not go along with everything
Purity
the measure of how closely an in-group conforms to in-group identity described by an ideology; how well are they adhering to what is expected of them?
Heresy/Apostasy
in extremism, these words are interchangeable; the belief that substantially wrong beliefs or practices can disqualify an otherwise eligible person from an in-group
