Normally long bone metaphysis
What is a Giant cell tumour?
Tumour formed once metaphysis has fused and destroys local cortex. Seen as soap bubble on XR
What is aneurysmal bone cyst due to?
Vessel malformation
Is osteochondroma painful?
Causes some pain
Are Aneurysmal bone cysts painful?
Locally aggressive causing cortical expansion so yes painful. May cause pathological fractures.
Lots of chambers filled with blood or serum

How would you diagnose Osteoid Osteoma?
CT and bone scan
Are Giant cell tumours painful?
Yes and may cause pathological fracture
Treatment for Osteoid Osteoma
Will go away on own or CT guided radio ablation
Are enchondromas painful?
Usually asymptomatic but can cause pathological fracture in which case yes
What is a hyperparathyroid tumour
lytic lesion of bone
Is osteoid osteoma painful?
Intense pain that is worse at night but relieved by NSAIDS.
Where are Giant cell tumours formed?
Metaphysis, Epiphysis and can go to subchondral bone in joint
