EP: Engine Compressor Stall/Surge
Indication:
- Engine pops
- High or erratic TOT
- Decreasing or erratic N1,N2
- Torque oscillations
Recovery:
- use bollective and reduce power, maintain slow cruise flight
- TOT &N1 check for normal indications
- ENGINE ANTIICING switch ON
- PARTICLE SEP PRG switch ON
- HEATER switch ON
- Decide if its bad enough you need to shutdown engine
- Continued flight
- Increase collective slowly to achieved desired power
- TOT & N1 montior for normal response
- Land as soon as practical
- Decide to shutdown
- Enter autorotation
- Close throttle
- FUEL VALVE switch OFF
- Accomplish AUTOROTATIVE DESCENT PROCEDURE
EP: Engine Hot Start/Shutdown
Indication:
- Excessive TOT
- Visible smoke or fire
Recovery:
- Close throttle
- FUEL VALVE switch OFF
- STARTER button press to motor engine until TOT stabilizes at normal temp
- Complete helicopter shutdown
EP: Engine Oil Pressure Low, High, Or Fluctuating
Indication:
- Engine oil pressure below minimum
- Engine oil pressure above max or flucuating abnormally
Recovery:
- if eng oil pressure is below minimum montitor eng oil pressure and temp. Land as soon as possible
- if eng oil pressure is above max or fluctuating monitor oil pressure and temp. Land as sson as practical
EP: Engine Oil Temp High
Indication:
- Engine oil temp increasing above normal
- Engine oil temp above max
Recovery:
-Land as soon as practical
EP: Driveshaft Failure
Indication:
- Left yaw
- Rapid decrease in NR
- Rapid increase in N2
- ROTOR LOW RPM audio horn and light
- Possible increase in noise level
Recovery:
- Accomplish AUTOROTATIVE DESCENT PROCEDURE
- To maintain tail rotor effectiveness do not shutdown engine
- Complete helicopter shutdown
EP: Engine Fire On Ground
Indication:

- Locked pedals
Recovery:
- Hovering
- dont close throttle unless severe right yaw occurs
- can land under power but more dangerous
