What is meant by the term “Abnormal” Sexuality?

What are some of the components of the Desire component of the Sexual Response Cycle?
Sexual Drive –> genital sensations
Motivation –> psychological, willingness to offer body
Wish Fulfillment –> hoping/expectations for sex
What are some physical features of Arousal?
Erection, Vaginal Lubrication
Nipples Harden
Increase Respiration
Tachycardia
Increase in BP
What are the two basic physiological processes that occur during the Excitement part of the Sexual Cycle?
Vasodilation/Constriction – engorgement of blood vessels of genitals
Myotonia –> muscle contractions in genitals and throughout body
What is Orgasm?
Peak of Sexual Pleasure
release of Sexual Tension and rhythmic contraction of perinatal muscles and reproductive organs
Orgasm last from 3-25 seconds
What is seen during Resolution?
A rapid return to resting state
General sense of well-being
(If orgasm didnt occur – resolution may take up to 2-6 hours)

Absent or reduced Interest in Sexual Activity
Absent or reduced sexual/erotic throughts
None or reduced intitation, unreceptive
Absent or reduced sexual pleasure
Absent or reduced sexual interest/arousal in response to internal/external sexual cues
Absent of reduced genital/non genital sensations
How do you classify Erectile Disorder?
At least 1 of the following almost all occasions of sexual activity (6 months)
Cant get an erection
cant maintain an erection until completion
marked decrease erection rigidity
