Q

Tell me about yourself

A

I have always been a creative person, with music, art, problem solving, but more importantly for me it’s about creating something. I actually taught my self html css and javascript and started freelancing, with very minimal back end stuff. When pandemic hit, I found myself out of work, I used the opportunity to deepen my knowledge and skills in software development.

During this time, I had the privilege of living with a full-stack developer who became my mentor and inspired me to pursue my coding journey further. I decided to learn JavaScript extensively, along with computer science theory and the underlying concepts of software engineering, such as how the internet works and how clients interact with servers.

To broaden my experience, I collaborated with a digital collective of designers and engineers, working on various projects and contributing to open-source initiatives within the coding community. This allowed me to refine my problem-solving abilities and wear many hats as I took on different roles within the team.

Now, I am excited to transition into a full-time role within a product team, where I believe my skills, quick learning ability, and natural project management instincts can be put to good use. I thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy utilising my creativity to tackle challenges and deliver high-quality solutions within a codebase.

Q

Tell me about your experience at INNOTECH

A

At INNOTECH, I had the opportunity to be part of a dynamic collective of designers and engineers. Our main focus was working with charity and grassroots organizations, which allowed me to contribute to meaningful projects. We applied agile methodologies like SCRUM for efficient project management, ensuring timely deliveries.

While I was at INNOTECH, I learned a lot about managing projects and got involved in different initiatives. However, since the projects were only part-time, I realized that I want a full-time job in a product team. I’m excited to be part of a team where I can work on projects consistently, collaborate closely with other professionals, and make a meaningful impact with my work.
