Behaviourism Topic four Flashcards
Define classical conditioning
Classical conditioning is a learned reflex/response that you do when voted by stimulus. It involves learning new behaviour via the process of association.
Give an example of classical conditioning
A dog being trained that the bell means food
Give an example of classical conditioning as a fear response
An example is a study known as little Albert
If a teacher conditions a class to clean up and count down from 20, what is this an example of?
Classical conditioning
Who’s Theory was operant conditioning
Skinner
What was Skinner’s theory of operant conditioning?
According to Skinner rewards and punishment shape are development and behaviour
What are the four types of operant conditioning?
Positive reinforcement strength things in particular behaviour by adding something pleasant as a consequence. Negative reinforcement strengthens a particular behaviour by removing something on pleasant as a consequence. Positive punishment week is a particular behaviour by adding something on pleasant as a consequence. Negative punishment weekends are particular behaviour by removing something pleasant as a consequence.
Give an example of classical conditioning
If you visit your grandmother and it makes you feel happy the neutral stimuli might be a certain perfume smell she wears if you smell the sense somewhere else it can trigger the same happy feeling even though your grandmother is not present
Classical conditioning
involves learning through associations between stimuli
Operant conditioning
Learning through the consequences of behaviour
Is classical or operant conditioning an example of the dog saliva when hearing the bell ring
Classical conditioning
Who founded classical condition?
Ivan Pavlov
