study of animal behaviour
differences between prey and predator behaviour are
prey - on high alert, in groups, look out for each other
predators - constantly looking for food
explain social vs solitary
social (obligatory or not) - needs conspecifics or others, but perhaps only seasonally
solitary - prefers to be alone, except mating time
altricial vs precocial animals
altricial - born underdeveloped, reliant on mother, usually predators
precocial - born fully developed, not as reliant, ready to flee
desire seeking is
motivation to get a resource
care is
motivation that’s give by an individual that is caring for another individual
lust is
need to reproduce
social play is
interaction between two animals in an UNDERSTANDABLE BODY LANGUAGE
panic/grief is
when an individual loses its caregiver
fear/anxiety is
fear - predominant concern
anxiety - in a state of worry
frustration is
losing the ability to achieve an expected outcome, couple with agressive-like behaviour
pain can cause
a more heightened response
appeasement is
active information seeking stage
inhibition
stopping and taking in information (passive)
repulsion
trying to increase space
