Behavioral Questions Flashcards
Tell me about yourself?
I grew up in a small town in Brewster, NY where I started working at a young age with my Father who was a stone mason and general contractor. My passion for real estate happened as a byproduct of working various job sites with him and I found it interesting the value-add projects landlords were making to their properties. As I got older I would pick their brains about real estate investing and ultimately decided to get a college education to prepare me for the business world. I graduated with a finance degree in 2017 from Binghamton University which is the #1 state school in New York. My first professional experience was working at a mortgage office in Stamford, CT helping the brokers close residential loans. Thereafter, I was approached with a public service opportunity to go intern in Washington D.C. for the House of Representatives. Although that was a fruitful and interesting experience, government policy did not interest me as much as real estate, which is why I decided to take a full time offer in the lending department of a mid-sized credit union back home in New York. I was able to get exposure to how the inside of a financial institution operates and had my hands in a bunch of different buckets. After a year I decided to shift gears and find a role where I could focus primarily on property analysis which is how I ended up in the role I am in now as Real Estate analyst for Boxwood Means. My day-to-day involves performing valuation reports for all commercial property types: Mutli-Family, Retail, Office, and Industrial. My current role has really taught me how to research and analyze properties, however, I’m in the process of switching gears away from valuation towards an acquisitions career. I want to be part of the investment decision making process which is I’m here today interviewing for Blank Company

What is your greatest weakness?
I get a little impatient when things take longer than I believe they should. The timeline I have in my mind for something is usually pretty optimistic. This is something I’m aware of and working on.
