What behavioral patients must be transported ALS?
All patients receiving iv/im/in meds or fluid
all patients with acute onset changes in mental status, suspected or confirmed loss of consciousness or increased cognitive impairment
Suspected or symptomatic of: ingestions/overdoses, head injury, drug reaction, exposures , attmpted suicide or other medical or traumatic amergencies
what is the adult dose of versed for a patient requiring chemical restraints?
10mg IM/IN may repeat one time after 5 minutes
max dose of 20mg
what is the pediatric dose of versed for a patient requiring chemical restraints?
5mg IM/IN do not repeat dose
what is the weight differentiation between adults and pediatrics for chemical restraint using versed?
adult is a person weighing more than 60kg
a pediatric is a person weighing between 30-60kg
What considerations should be taken when assessing patients with a behavioral chief complaint?
underlying illness or injury
pt’s physical appearance, behavior, speech, mood, consciousness, orientation, judgment, insight
