Q

Sanctity of Life Evaluation

A
  • The belief that all life is created by God has a positive impact as it provides and easy, simple answers to existence that is easily grasped by the majority of the population thus providing a sense of comfort and solace
  • This can also be beneficial as seeing human life as scared leads to greater respect in society as as every individual has been created equally with a part of God within them leading to less violence such as hate crimes
  • However this belief may also lead to negative ideologies such as abortion bans which may lead to more forced pregnancies and less respect for women’s lives and rights
  • The Christian belief in the sanctity of life is less impactful as it leads to the belief that God has a purpose for all life which clashes with our Freewill as if our futures are laid out then our ability to make conscious choices is limited
  • For example a consequence of this would be the removal of personal autonomy in the circumstances of ending life support as this would be viewed as wrong and the taking away of life
