B.C. = Before Christ. It is literally the time in history that marks the period BEFORE Jesus Christ was born.
Ex. - 1000 BC means 1000 years before the birth of Christ.

A.D., which stands for Anno Domini.
Anno Domini is Latin for “in the year of the Lord”

They counts backwards from 1 A.D.

Circa means “approximately” or about or around. You often times see it written on a plaque on the outside of a house or building, like this, “Circa 1765” and it means that the house dates to APPROXIMATELY 1765 or the year listed.
