No it will not grow back
Should I get an older or younger bearded dragon?
Young ones are good because you have them for longer and get to watch them grow as well as build a stronger bond with them, however they are fragile when young and must be handles with care.
Older ones are easier to handle because of their size and if you buy a tame one they will settle in quickly
What type of enclosure do I need?
Wooden ones are the most usual, their cheaper than glass and it’s easier to control the temperature all year round.
They should be a minimum of 3/4 feet in length and 1/2 in width is the minimum. It is better to set up a temperature gradient in bigger tanks which is important for their thermoregulation.
Some height is good as they enjoy to climb but they are not fully arboreal.
Heating
They need a hot end a cooler end.
Hot end - 40 to 45 degrees Celsius
Cool end - 25 to 30 degrees Celsius
Buying a digital thermometer is great for checking the temperature
Night temperature
Temperature should not drop below 15 degrees Celsius. If it does you may need either a ceramic heater bulb with a thermostat on low.
Lighting
A clear spotlight bulb for heating, this is their basking spot.
Also a UVB to give them their vitamin D3, at least 10%.
Decor
Two bowls, one for food and one for water. Some logs or rock are good for climbing but also for basking.
