How many coaches are allowed for a USAV Match and an NCAA match?.
USAV: Two (One head and one Asst). NCAA No more that Three
How long may coaches participate in the warm up drill?
Up to the coin toss, then they must leave the court thereafter.
What’s the required uniform for Junior Beach Players?
Matching team uniforms, preferably with numbers on them. Numbers 1-99 may be used.
What’s the required NCAA uniform?
Tank tops that cover the torso. Numbers 0-99 may be used. Cold weather gear is also allowed under the uniform.
What is the Pre-match protocol timing for USAV?
Total 10 minutes. Coin toss at -7. Winner choses Serve, Side or Receive.
At what point do players switch court sides?
Every 7th point on regular sets, every 5th point on a deciding set.
Describe the ‘Fair Play’ Screening Rule.
Teams members should raise a hand indicating a potential screen and opponent should oblige and adjust without a delay.
What are the penalties for a Delay?
Violations result in a Verbal Warning, followed by a Delay Warning (Yellow Card) then subsequently a Delay Penalty (Red Card).
Explain in detail how Time Outs are administered at the USAV and NCAA Level.
USAV: Time outs are 30 seconds in length, with an additional 30 seconds to travel from court to Home Bench. Total 60 NCAA: Similar to USAV, but are 60 seconds in length with same time to travel to Bench. Total 90
Until what Age Group may a Coach call a Time Out for their team at the USAV level?
Coaches for 19 and Under may ask for a Time Out. NCAA Rule: Coaches may suggest.
How long is the interval between sets?
2 minutes
Is there a Technical Time out in the 3rd Set?
No. Otherwise TTO’s are taken when both scores total to 21.
