work hours
- workers may not work more than 45 hours a week
- workers may work 9 hours a day if they work 5 days a week. overtime should not exceed 10 hours
overtime
- one and a half times pay for overtime worked on weekdays and saturdays
- 2 times pay for overtime worked on public holidays and sundays
types of leave
annual leave
-21 consecutive days leave per year. one day for every 17 worked.
sick leave
-six weeks paid sick leave in a period of 36 months. one day for every 26 days worked’
termination of employment
- if employed for less than 6 months, termination can only happen after 1 weeks notice
- minimum of 4 weeks notice must be given to an employee who was employed for more than a year
