This took place on September 19 1777 on farmland of Brit John Freeman. Daniel Morgan had 500 sharp shooters to the field. At the end of the battle British gained control of the farm but suffered 600 casualties, twice as many as the Americans.

On October 7 1777 British attacked and General Burgoyne was defeated and forced to retreat. This time the casualties nearly mounted 600 men.
