How long should the timekeeper set the warm up clock for?
Minimum 10 minutes
When should you sound the horn?
Three minutes and one minute prior to the start time
When do you start the clock
- When the ball is first tapped during the jump ball to begin the game
- During a throw; when the ball is first touched by any player on the court
- After the last, or only free throw that is unsuccessful when the ball is first touched by any player
Stop the clock:
- On every whistle
- What a Basket is scored against a team that has already requested a time out. (Sound the horn)
- At the end of each quarter
- When the shot clock sounds and a team has control of the ball
- When a basket is scored in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter or any overtime periods

Time the time outs By:
- Starting the timer as soon as the official gives the signal
- Sounding the horn when 50 seconds have elapsed
- Sounding the horn when 60 seconds has elapsed
Time the intervals:
- Time 60 seconds between the first and second quarters and between the third and fourth quarters and any overtime quarters
- Sounds the horn as above
How long should you time for half time?
Max of 10 minutes for senior games
Max 5 minutes in 8 minutes quarter games
When do you start the shot clock?
Start the clock whenever a team gains control of a live ball.
Stop and reset the clock to 30 seconds as soon as:
- An official blows a whistle for a foul or violation
- A ball on a shot for a basket or on a pass enters the basket
- A shot for a basket touches the ring and does not go in (except if ball gets stuck in supports)
- The games is stopped due to some action of the team not in control of the ball
- The game is stopped due to some action not relevant to the game, unless the opponents would be placed at a disadvantage
Stop but Not Reset when the same team with the ball is awarded a throw as a result of:
- Ball having gone out of bounds
- Player of the same team is injured
- Jump ball situation
- Double foul
- Cancellation of equal penalties against the teams
Stop and switch off the shot clock when:
A team gains control of the ball with less than 3 seconds remaining on the game clock
A minimum of how much time before the game starts should the lineups be entered onto the scoresheet?

When should you check off the starters for each team and have the coach sign the sheet?
10 minutes before this game time
Should you add the score of 1, 2, or 3 to the running score or to the sheet by adding individual scores first?
