Jump ball
Starts the game and it’s cold when the ball is held by two opposing players

Position close to the net, usually lower to the baseline just outside the key or at the top of the key (Low post and high post)
Zone
Defensive strategy in which each player has a certain area of the court to defend
Pivoting
Rotating on 1 foot long moving the other one. Cannot change feet.
Layup
Ball shot off the backboard to the side of the basket. Allowed two steps
Chest pass
Two handed past pushed from the chest to receivers chest
Bounce Pass
Pass at strikes the floor just before it gets to the receiver
Lob pass
Either soccer or baseball style pass get it over an opponent
Rebounding
Recovering the shop off of the backboard or rim
Shooting
Set shot, jumpshot, free throw, and hook shot
Boxing out
Players position between opposing player and the basket to get rebound
Screen
Offense of players provides a stationary obstacle for a team need to get free of the person guarding him. Must be stationary and not moving or illegal block
Pick
Offense of player legally blocks the path of defensive player in order to delay progress. If there is contact, the offense of player must be stationary
Fake
Movement or series of movements to make a point to do something
