The development occurred over thousands of years by the emperor Justinian, with its development not being logical or rational, instead being organic.

A
- Is a person an adult or child
- Is a person a Roman citizen – today’s current question would be do you have citizenship
- Is a person married or single
- Is a person free or a slave
- Is a person a natural person or a legal/juristic person
