Big places like cities or countries are treated with “in”
When do you not use prepositions?
Before expressions of time (beginning, this, next, one and what) you usually put no preposition. Example: Ill see you this Monday.
When to use prepositions with Verbs?
With some verbs, we put a preposition before an object. Example: Look at her.
What are some verbs that do need a preposition?
To insist on (darauf bestehen), to live on(davon leben), to depend on(anhägen von), to pay for(bezahlen für), to smile at (anlächeln), to explain to(jemandem erklären)
