I own 1/1million of that company and I’m entitled to 1 millionth of the company’s profits

A

‘Price’ refers to the cost of buying one share of stock

What does ‘’market cap’ mean?

A

Market cap = market capitalisation

Market cap = price x number of shares outstanding

e.g. price = £20 x 1,000,000 shares outstanding = £20,000,000 market capitalisation

Market capitalisation represents the total value of all of the stock available in that company
