Roots
“The glue” basic form around which the final word is formed. Telling you in general the thing you are dealing with. It specifies the body part
Combining form
A combining vowel, usually O or I
Prefixes
At the beginning, a clue into what to expect. The how, why, where, when, how much, how many, position, direction, time, or status
Suffix
At the end, tells you what is happening with the body part or system. Indicates the procedure, condition, or disease. 
Acronyms
A word or abbreviation formed by the first letters or syllables of other words
Eponyms
A person, place, or thing from which a person, place, or thing gets its name
Homonyms
A word that has a the same pronunciation as another word but a different meaning and in most cases a different spelling
 Antonyms
A word that means the opposite of another word
