Process:
- Read the piece several times. Noting important passages
- Decide upon the literatures the,e and authors purpose then explore the means by which he/she reveals the purpose

Think:
- The author attempts to convey what theme

- What significance/ importance does the reader find in the work
Questions to ask yourself
- Ask yourself the pic picture ideas them decide what smaller pieces support it
- What theme or main idea did the author want you to understand after the reading
- What struck you the most: images ideas lines or charters caused a strong response
- Why did the author chose these devices in these ways
