A

Yuan Qi - Original Qi (a.k.a. KD Essence or Source Qi)

Zong Qi - Gathering Qi (Da + Gu)

Zhen Qi - True Qi (Zong + Yuan) “pool of undifferentiated qi”

Gu Qi - Food Qi (spleen, middle)

Da Qi - Air Qi (lungs, upper)

Ying Qi - Nutritive Qi
Nourishes the internal organs of the body. It’s closely linked to the blood and flows in the channels/blood vessels of the body

Wei Qi - Defensive Qi
Defends the body from external pathogens such as Wind, Cold, Heat, and Dampness. It’s coarser in nature and flows on the outer layers of the body, opening/closing the pores, and regulating temperature.

heat/fire - fire is worse, goes to upper body, scorches fluid
cold - fixed contracting stagnating feels better with warmth
damp - fixed, heavy, middle/lower jiao
dry - cant be internally generated.
summerheat - causes thirst, fever, and combines with dampness readily. will go to middle or lower jiao
