basic terms Flashcards
1
Q
mole
A
mol is like a special number in chemistry that tells you exactly how many atoms, molecules, or other tiny particles you have in a substance. This special number is a really big one: 602, sextillion (that’s 602 with 23 zeros!).
2
Q
number of moles
A
n = m / M
n represents the number of moles (mol)
m represents the mass of the substance (g)
M represents the molar mass of the substance (g/mol)
3
Q
molar mass
A
which is essentially the mass of one mole of the substance
