Bronchial tree and bronchioles
Bronchi held open by cartilage horseshoes and plates
Bronchiolar and alveolar surface tension reduced by surfactant
Diameter of red cells

What drives oxygen across the blood-air barrier?
PO2 Air = 100 mm HG PO2 Blood = 40 mm HG
Position of diaphragm
Margin is attached to costal margin (lower edge of the rib cage)
Centre of dome bulges up because of pressure difference between pleural and abdominal cavities
Highest in expiration
Phrenic nerves
C3,4,5 is Motor to diaphragm
Roles of the abdominal muscles and the pelvic diaphragm
The function of the abdominal muscles are to protect the internal organs in the abdominal and pelvic regions and provide postural support. There is not one, but several muscles involved in the support of the abdominal area. Rectus abdominus is the large abdominal muscle in the center of the abdominal region. It controls pelvic tilt.
