requirements for basic med
A
- can’t have failed previous medical
- visit a doctor (any doctor, not limited to AME) 4 yrs
- take an online test every 2 years (score an 80%)
- hold valid FAA pilot certificate

limitations under basic med
A
- no class A ( must be low 18,000’)
- 250 kts limit
- cannot fly for compensation or hire
- you & 5 others onboard (6 total bodies onboard)
- u can still fly IFR
- max aircraft takeoff eight of 6000 lbs
- stay within the USA
