What is Customs?
Customs are established patterns of
behaviour among people in a society or group.
What is the definition of Rules?
They are regulations or principles governing procedures or controlling conduct.
What is the definition of Law?
A set of rules imposed on all members of a community that is officially recognised, binding and enforceable by persons or organisations.
What are Values?
Principles, standards, or qualities considered worthwhile or desirable within a society.
What are ethics?
Rules we develop ourselves which govern what we decide is morally right.
What are the characteristics of just laws?
Justice, Equality, Fairness, Access
What is the definition of Justice?
The legal principle of upholding generally accepted
rights and enforcing responsibilities, ensuring that equal outcomes are achieved for those involved.
Definition of Equality?
All people in a society are treated in the same way with respect to political, social and civil rights and opportunities; no one enjoys an unfair advantage or disadvantage.
Definition of Fairness?
Freedom from bias, dishonesty, or injustice; is a concept commonly related to everyday activities.
Definition of Access?
The idea that everyone who is covered by a legal system and its laws should have equal rights in that system.
What is procedural fairness?
the body of principles used to ensure the fairness and justice
of the decision-making procedures of courts.
What is rule of law?
The principle that nobody is above the law
What is natural law?
The principle that everyone should
be treated fairly in legal situations.
What are the 2 main aspects of natural law?

a fair hearing - The right to have a decision made by an unbiased
decision-maker.
