Q

What is a congenital or acquired hernia?

Q

What is a true or false hernia

A

Q

What is a strangulated hernia?

A

Strangulated: These are surgical emergencies. This is when the blood supply of the hernia is compromised due to entrapment, caused by torsion or compression at the hernial ring. The hernia becomes quickly devitalised which can be life threatening for the patient. Animals with a strangulated hernia often present in pain.
