What is the defenition of a Phrasal Verb?
A group of words that functions as a Verb, and is made up of a Verb + a Preposition, and Adverb, or both.
Name at least 3 Phrasal Verbs.
Bear With, Stand Up, Sit Down, Be Patient, On Monday, Ask Around, Back (somebody) Up, Break (something) Down, Bring Up, Call (something) Off.
What is the defenition of an Adverb?
It is words that describe an Adjective, Another Verb, or a Sentence.
Essentially it is Verbs that modify other Verbs.
An Add-On descriptor.
Name at least 3 Adverbs.
Sings Loudly = Sings is the Verb, Loudly is the Adverb.
Falls Hard = Falls is the Verb, Hard is the Adverb.
Usually, Painfully, Hillariously.
Essentially any Verb that comes attached to another Verb and describes it.
Falls Hard, Stomps Loudly, Grins Evilly, Smirks Slyly, More Intresting.
What is the definition of a Preposition?
Where or When something is, in relation to something else.
A word governing, and usually preceding, a Noun or Pronoun, and expressing a relation to another Word, or Element in the Clause.
Clause = A unit of grammatical organization next below the sentence min rank and in traditional grammar said to consist of a subject andpredicate. (A sentence)
