Basic Constant Pressure System Flashcards
What does the pump do?
Constant positive pressure provides motive force for the system oil.
What does the header tank do?
Header tank provides positive pressure to the suction of the positive displacement pump.
Acts a reserve for the oil system.
Assists in the de-aeration and the cooling of the oil.
DCV what does it stand for and what does it do?
Directional control valve
Directs oil to either side if the actuator to control direction.
ACTUATOR
used to convert hydraulic energy into mechanical work.
Example Capstan
Advantages of a constant pressure system?
Good replenishment
Constant filtration
Good cooling
Disadvantages of the constant pressure system?
Can’t set up the relief valve if the dcv is open centred
Poor speed control
No bypass on the filter
Rotary actuator (bi directional motor) what does it do?
Concerts hydraulic energy into rotary motion.
