What is a balance sheet?
A statement that reports on the assets, liability and equity of a company at a specific point in time.
What is equity?
The funding related to stockholders.
What is common stock?
The funding from shareholders.
What are retained earnings?
Past earnings which haven’t been distributed to stockholders.
What is the balance sheet equation?
assets = liability + equity
What is an income statement?
A statement that shows a company’s revenue, expenses and net income in a period.
What is gross profit?
Revenue - COGS
What are operating expenses?
Expenses that can’t be linked to individual products sold
What is operating income?
How much is earned before side activities, interest, and taxes.
What is the formula for operating income?
Gross profit - operating expenses
What is another name for operating income?
EBIT
What is a cash flow statement?
A statement that summarizes the movements of cash and cash equivalents in and out of the company.
What is another name for net income?
after-tax profits
What goes under CFO?
cash flow from operating activities
What goes under CFI?
changes in cash from the purchase or sale of property, plants, equipment (PP&E), or long-term investments.
