If you hit the ball outside the lines between home plate and first base and home plate and third base
Describe the strike zone.
The area over the home plate, above the batters knees, and below the batters chest where pitches are called, if a pitch doesn’t enter this zone it’s an unfair pitch
Describe balls and walks
If a pitcher throws an unfair pitch, it’s called a ball. They work the same way as strikes just for the pitcher.
When the pitcher throws four balls to the batter, the batter can walk to first base
