- suggest new ways to meet people
- plan rewards
- record the money saved
how someone can build self-concept
- make sure targets are achievable
- break down targets into small steps
- try to speak/thinks positively
- give reassurance, encouragement, feedback on progress
how to challenge a patients current state/ help push them
- encourage the person about the possibility of change
- help the person understand the longer-term risk of staying the same/ in the same attitude
