What is Infant baptism ?
Infant baptism is when babies/ child becomes part of the church as parents take the promises behalf of their kids
What is Believers baptism?
Becoming a Christian through the total immersion ceremony and willing to live Christian life
What is one teaching for being baptised?
“No one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the spirit” - john
How is a baby baptised?
The water is poured over the baby’s head as the minister says “I baptise you in the name of Father and the Son and the Holy spirit”.
How is an adult baptised?
Through total emersion in blessed water
What are the advantages of infant baptism?
- early exposure to church
- original sin wiped
- church influence
- Sunday school
What are the disadvantages of Infant baptism?
- not the choice of the child
- won’t understand the importance
- wont understand salvation
What are the advantages of Believers baptism?
- Jesus was baptised as an adult
- better understanding of religion
- better understanding of salvation
What are the disadvantages of Believers baptism?
- Lack of Church exposure
- may find it difficult to understand religion
- original sins are not wiped out
what is confirmation?
confirmation completes baptism
What happens during confirmation after baptism?
Chrism oil is applied on the one being baptised and this confirms the fullness of the holy spirit
