A

“doubly redoubled strokes upon the foe” - bravery, valiant fighter who fights for the good of his country with great vigour, defeating his oponents.
“no less deserved” of praise than M, though to a point he is overshadowed, he doesnt let this deter him from serving his purpose for his country
Everlasting, clear displays of loyalty to the king and bravery in battle

Logical - Banquo

A

Openly doubts the witches true intentions 1.3 - distrust of the “weird sisters”
Warns M they will win his trust with “honest trifles” only to betray him in the “deepest consequence” (small truths, big consequences)
Despite getting a prophecy that his descendants will be king, B doesnt focus on his potential for power, unlike M, creating a difference between them - showing he is happy with his position in Scotland and he thinks about the consequeces of his actions

Loyal - Banquo

A

1.4 “noble” - held in high regard by D, valued by the king. Seen as reasonable and trustworthy
D uses flattering language “hold thee to my heart”
2.3 devotion to D even after his death. Promises to fight against “treasonous malice”, determination to bring D to justice and serve the true king - his one purpose in life it seems

Virtuous - Banquo

A

3.1 - his “royalty in nature” worries M - thinks it will naturally expose his dishonesty/vices. Believes B will do everything in his power to right the wrongs in the world
B is a foil to M.
3.3 Dies defending his son’s life, sacrifices himself “fly, fly, fly”. Has strong morals that arent compromised in the face of adversity. Selfless.

Guilt - Banquo

A

3.4 - appearance as a ghost as a culmination of M’s guilt and fear, appears to terrorise M, causing M to act irrationally amongst new guests (his vice being exposed even after M killed B so this wouldnt happen)
“Never shake thy gory locks at me”
“sits in macbeth’s place” - more deserving of the title of king than M, even though he never wanted it. His descendants will one day become king and this is inevitable - the righful path is the fruitful one.
Good will always win against evil.
